ART NOUVEAU NANCY

Nancy is wereldberoemd om de "Ecole de Nancy".
Een groot aantal architecten, kunstenaars en vaklieden realiseerden hier in vrij korte tijd een gang van zaken die de uitgangspunten van de Arts and Crafts beweging het dichtst benaderden.
Glas in lood, siersmeedwerk,meubelontwerpen en opmerkelijke architectuur van woonhuis tot café, van feestzaal tot graftombe, winkels, kantoren geven Nancy het karakter van een openlucht museum.

A number of architects, artists and craftsmen realised in an relative short period a situation which comes closest to the original ideas of the Arts and Crafts movement.
Stained glass, wrought iron work, furniture and remarkable architecture from dwelling house to pub and from celebration hall to cemeterytomb, shops, offices. All this makes almost an open air museum of this remarkable town.
